OOTD Bride’s Maids Day

Hey Everyone,

I have been asked to be a Brides Maid for one of my best friends, so that means many occasions where we go out and look at different things and discus what the Bride wants. Recently we went out as a group to the venue that they have picked. We hadn’t seen it before and the weather was perfect for a venture out to the site.

The lighting was just too perfect and so I asked Caitlan from Sass Social to take photos (she is also the beautiful Bride to be ❤ )

I tend to have a pretty casual style of dress, the ‘Queen of Casual’ as I have been called by my mother (too many times). So today was no exception.

Outfit:
Jacket: Brave Soul Biker Pu Jacket (Purchased on ASOS)
Shirt: Target Mens V-neck Black
Scarf: Princess Highway
Jeans: Jeans West Curve Hugging Skinny Leg Black
Sunglass: Ray Bans Aviators

I only recently got this jacket and I am so in love with it. It was on sale when I purchased it so I am unsure whether or not you will still be able to get this jacket if you are interested in it. Also I could not resist taking a photo in front of a woolie bush! I miss my photo background bush at my parents place!

Of course, this wouldn’t be a post by me without a goofy photo, so queue for a ‘in action’ shot:

Green Shift Makeup Look!

Hey Guys!

I have been loving a darker look recently, and I am feel so inspired by winter! I am super happy with how my eyes turned out in this look, but not sure how I feel about my lips, I wanted to do something different but improvised.

IMG_1975

My idea behind this look was that I wanted green eyes with a red crease. The hardest part of this was actually trying to get the red crease, as I wanted it to be matte. I found that the shadows that I thought would work for me didn’t, they weren’t red enough, so I had to lightly layer over a red shimmer. It worked out in the end, but I ended up using a lot more shadows in the crease than I wanted.

IMG_2016

The main shadows of this look are Spectral Fragments by Femme Fatal Cosmetics and Lumi by Sugar Pill Cosmetics. I have a deep love for my Femme Fatal shades, because they are unique and so easy to work with. Lumi is a shadow that simply works with everything and I love it to death.

A quick close up of the eyeshadow look! below is a list of all the products used:

Lips:

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Unicorn Blood (swatch post)

Sugar Pill Lumi layer over top. (A different shade was also used, but looking back that shadow is not lip safe so I will not be listing it here.)

I found that while Spectral Fragments is a beautiful duo chrome colour, it does bruise on my eyes. So if you have an eye shape/ design (?) similar to mine please be aware of that! The green shift lasted really well on the part of my lid that did not fold away, the areas that did got bruised and so only had the dark undertone left.

I originally was going to pair JS Weirdo with this look, but I didn’t have it with me, so I thought I would try Unicorn Blood. This is my first experience trying to layer shadows like this over lipstick, I feel it turned out pretty well though!

What sort of looks would you like to see next? Please let me know below.

Purple Night Makeup Look!

Hey Guys!

I was sitting at home one day and I just had to play with some makeup, I had recently purchased a lot of pigments and I am just in love with them and want to put them all over my face. I have also been loving black lipstick, I haven’t worn it much but I can see myself wearing this a lot this winter so get ready.

IMG_1764

Here is an over view shot! I am so happy with how this turned out (even if taking photos was a pain). This is one of my first true attempts at trying to do a wing liner and I am soooooo happy with it. Probably a bit longer than what I wanted but it worked out really well for this look. So I don’t mind that at all!

IMG_1750

I feel that you could easily pair this with a different lipstick, I was even thinking of pairing this with Jeffree Star Cosmetics – Blow Pony but decided that I really wanted this to be a super bold look and so decided on Weirdo instead.

IMG_1772.JPG

Here is a closeup of my eye! Again, this was so hard to photograph, this was one of the few good ones I have! As I said, I am super happy with how the liner turned out, more so because I am still learning how to do things like this!

What I did to get the liner to look like that was to actually put the eyeshadow down first in a straight line, so that way I only had to follow the edge with my brush tip liner. I  found it made it soooo much easier to get a straight line that still connected up with the rest of the look. I doubt that is a new technique, but definably a good one if you, like me, are still learning how to draw straight lines on your face.

Products:

Face:

Loreal Paris Infallible Matte Primer Review

Kat Von D Lock-it Foundation shade 44

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla

Laura Mercier Under-eye setting powder

NARS Translucent Setting Powder

NARS Laguna Bronzer

(Don’t remember my blush)

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfecter in Moonstone

Eyes:

Urban Decay Primer Potion

Femme Fatal Cosmetics – Fever Swamp (light purple, Inner Corner),  Dead House ( pink/ purple, Inner 3rd), for the last shade the label had deteriorated before I could write down the name or stick it to the sample pot I switched it to. But this is also a Femme Fatal Shade. But any dark shimmering purple will do the trick!

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper

Eyelure Lashes, I think is style #149 or #150

Urban Decay Perversion Liner – Top Lashes

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara – Bottom Lashes

Benefit Gimme Brow – Light/ Medium

Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel

Lips:

Jeffree Star Cosmetics – Weirdo

What do you think of this look? I feel I will have to refer back to this post myself so I know which products I used! Please leave some feedback in the comments on what you think, I would love to hear from you.

Under-Grad Graduation!

Hey Guys!

Last week on Tuesday (April 5th) I graduated from my Under-Grad Degree! I do not know if I have mentioned it much on my blog, but yes! I have been a full time student for the last three years and on Tuesday I Graduated from my Bachelor Of Arts! It honestly doesn’t feel real, but having my fancy piece of paper hanging on the wall beside me as I type is a solid reminder that, yes, I did complete a degree at uni!

IMG_1544

I was so lucky to be able to Graduate with (most) of my friends who I started this degree with! It was such a great honour to study with these beautiful people. I can’t express enough how thankful I am that we could all go through this together and still be such great friends on the other side!

IMG_1558

Although I failed at getting a good shot of what I was wearing under my gown, here is what the gown looks like in general! You might be wondering why were are all in team Hufflepuff colours. Well, to put it simply, we are all from the school of Communications and yellow is simply the colour of our school. I seem to find myself always in team yellow for school. Ah well, I guess it is just meant to be my colour! (even though it really does not go with blonde hair)

IMG_1553

Here is a bit of a close up of my crazy face. I am pretty sure this is before we have received our degrees otherwise I would not have been this calm! As much as I loved wearing the gowns, I did actually get to a point where I over heated and almost passed out. Thankfully that was at the end of the night so it wasn’t a huge issue, but still. Kind of a scary moment! Thankfully my family was there for me though so it was all good!

What is on my face, you may wonder, well here is a short overview:

Lips: Jeffree Star Cosmetics – Redrum

Face: Kat Von D Lockit Foundation – Shade 45

Brows: ABH Dip Brow – Blonde

Eyes: Inglot Gel Eyeliner as a base (Inglot Gel Eyeliner – Review)

Tarte Tartelette In Bloom palette – shades used in the crease

NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow – Galisto

           Sugar Pill Pigment – Lumi

My dress, even though you do not really see it throughout this post, if from Tokito. I bought this the day before because Mum did not approve of what I was going to wear. And I am in a way glad, because I love the dress that I got and I know I will get a lot of use out of it! It was a simple Black A-line dress with a black belt that clasped at the front. The belt came attached and I love it. Mum of course complained it was black, my favourite colour haha! I personally prefer black clothing but colourful makeup.

IMG_1549

I cannot wish for the day to go differently, because to me it went along beautifully. The only thing I do feel a little sad about is that after the ceremony we didn’t get a chance to take a photo of all of us together with out fancy paper. But at least I took a few photos before hand! Thank you again to my beautiful friends. I can’t imagine doing this degree without out you.

Now I have to wait for my next graduation! Which will happen in a few years. I am currently studying a Master of Teaching (Secondary) and its so interesting! So be prepared, in two years time (if I am still blogging) there will be another graduation post!

Organised for a rushed morning!

There are times when you either wake up late or just stay in bed for 1 hour and then end up being late. When this happens, which might happen often, things get sacrificed to save time to get going. Although I don’t often run late, there are times I am and these are some of the things I do to help myself get back on track. To either minimise the amount of time I’m late, get there on time, or in some cases actually be early again.

1. Set your makeup out.

IMG_1113

I am a person that will generally always wear makeup when going out. This is because I feel more confident and awake when I have makeup on (I will also get fewer comments saying I look tired haha!) Now that I live between two homes things are a little less organised in terms of how I have my makeup stored. As I’m constantly switching stuff out at my rents house to take down to Adelaide to use for the week or fortnight depending on my schedule. At the moment, I have a full-length mirror in front of my window which I use to put my makeup on. In my room though there is no table and my makeup is stored in the cupboard on the other side of the room. So to save myself time and many trips from the mirror to the cupboard, I do a couple of things to make getting ready easier and quicker. First is a will put things in little piles. Such as concealer, foundation and powder products will be in a general location, making them easier to pick up in one big load. I will sometimes stack my powders onto my eye shadow palettes so free my hands up. I will also have all my eye products together and set out. While I’m collecting everything, I will lay them out in the order that I put things on, e.g. primer, eye shadows, eyeliner, foundation etc. I find that this saves me time and also means I don’t get flustered and potentially missing an important step to my makeup routine.

2. Don’t look at the clock every 2 seconds.

I know this one can be hard, because after all you’re running late and you need to know how much time you have left before you’re seriously late. But looking at the clock all the time actually wastes time that you could be using to get ready with. I have found that the less I look at the clock, but still rush around, the quicker I seem to get things done, and can even get more done in the same amount of time. So instead of checking the clock every 2 seconds, try to check every 3 -4 minutes.

3. Prep the night before.

You might be someone who has too many choices, or is forgetful, there has been many times that I just didn’t know what I wanted to wear, both clothes and makeup and so got a bit stressed. I can also be forgetful in bringing things for other people, such as gifts, text books or even random things. I also often forget stuff for myself, as it was, this morning I almost left my rents without my toothbrush and my next pill sheet. That would not have been good! So, I do a couple things to help with this. One is leave everything together, your keys, uni bag, water bottle and that thing your sister was meant to give your friend four months ago. That way in the morning when you’re running around getting everything, you’ll hopefully just pick up the pile and walk out the door. Another thing I do is that while I’m showering, or eating breakfast (if I have the time) is think about what I want to wear and what would look good. I don’t have heaps of clothes so it isn’t a huge issue. If you do have more trouble, do the same like what you did with the keys. Lay out your outfit a day early so you just get up and jump into them.

4. Maybe give yourself time to procrastinate.

I am someone who will wake up and check social media like the morning newspaper. So because of this, I sometimes lose track of time and end up running a little late, and generally have to sacrifice eating breakfast before walking really quickly for the bus. To help with this, I will wake up maybe 5 -15 minutes earlier than I have to, this is to make sure I can have that time to check my phone. If you can put off looking at your phone, and get on public transport, try and save checking your phone until then. I mean, realistically you’re going to sit on it for the 30 min ride anyway.
