Loreal Paris Infallible Matte Foundation + Primer Review

This is a foundation that is relatively new to the Australian market, and as no surprise, the beauty community blow up wth excitement to finally be able to test out this foundation. Luckily, around the time that I was shopping, Priceline was having a sale so I could get both the primer and the foundation for a good price. I was also interested in the primer because I have an oily face and am always on the look-out for something to help stop my nose breaking through.

I have never really tried Loreal products in the past because of the price point. It’s just too expensive to buy most of the time, and I’m honestly the type that would rather spend the extra $15 for a high-end product. But seeing as Priceline were having the sale I figured I would give it a try. I also wanted to use it more regularly, so that way I could leave my more expensive foundations for days that were more ‘fancy’ and what ever.

First I will talk quickly about the Primer and then move onto the foundation.

Something I want to say straight away is that you don’t need a lot of this to get a nice layer all over your face. This is an advantage for a number of reasons, 1) you don’t need to buy it so often and 2) it means it will do the job without covering your face in product! My sort of one negative is that this is a silicone feeling, but this primer is def not as bad as other ones that I have tried. While using this, I haven’t noticed any scent so I am so glad as I’m not really a fan of scented products. I have also tried this primer with a couple of other foundations and it works well with them too. So I’m really glad because it means I can just use this for everything. Which for me is big thing, as I am not really a person that likes to have heaps of things open at once. Not when I don’t need to.

My biggest plus for this, is that it does actually help with keeping my face matte. I have a SUPER oily nose which can be gross at times and means that after roughly 4 hours wear of ANY foundation my nose is shiny. And most certainly not the cute kind of shiny, but I have noticed that, with this primer I can get through the day a lot longer. My nose WILL still get shiny, but NOWHERE NEAR AS BAD. So for me this is great. It now means I can get more of the day out of my foundation without my face looking crazy.

My biggest wish for this is for the price to come down. I really like this primer but I will have to make sure to only buy it when it’s on sale. I am def going to be using this for a long time, or until something better comes up. But for now, I will get this everytime its on sale and pray I don’t run out in the mean time!

It has honestly been a long time since I purchased a drug store foundation, this is because I have pretty fussy skin that can break out, and even course me headaches. So I have to be careful, but I had heard so many good things about this foundation and so I really wanted to try it! Thankfully at the time of getting this there was a sale so there was no problem in getting this and the primer, which I thought was great! Now onto the review!

This was actually what surprised me the most about this foundation was the fact that I actually found an amazing colour match. I haven’t found a good colour match to a foundation in a number of years. The last foundation that I had with a fantastic colour match got discontinued. I tried this in store by putting it on my neck and seeing how it went. Granted (and to no surprise) it’s the lightest shade they offer. But it works! So I was really happy when I could actually try a drug store foundation! I even had the colour match confirmed for me, when I was in MECCA getting my colour match for the NARS All Day Luminous Foundation, the lady commented saying I had a great colour match. Which is the first time anyone has said that to me which was exciting!

This is actually one of my favourite foundations since I have been using it because of its lasting power. I was honestly really shocked when I tried this for the first time because it lasted all day and looked great. I found that when it came to taking this off there was still a lot of the product still on my face when I used my face wipe. Which for me is always a good sign.

Not going to lie, I feel like I do use a lot of this to get the coverage I want on my face, but saying that, it is one of the lightest foundations that I own in terms of how it feels on my skin. This feels really nice on my skin, and there has honestly been times that I have forgotten that I’m wearing this and go to scratch my face. I am so glad that I have this in my collection.

Now of course we need a selfie to see how it actually looks on the skin! This is the makeup that I wore for a recent pub crawl, hence the not so good looking shirt. That being said though, I loved wearing this foundation for the night and have no regrets in choosing this. If you are also interested, recently on my Instagram (which will be linked at the end of the post) I did post a photo. I took this photo before I set out for the night, and once returning I posted a side-by-side of this photo and 7 hours later (according to the time stamp). So if you want a more hard core photo evidence, then head on over there!

I have zero regrets in getting this foundation and I feel that it will be a part of my life for a very long time. I have already used a coupon to get a backup of this because I really don’t want to run out! I have been telling many people around me that they need this in their life and if they have been thinking of getting this they should! I truly love this more than some of my tried and true foundations, and for a product I’ve had for a month that is saying a lot!

See you next time!!!
