Makeup Look – Dark shadow

So, again while late at night sitting in my room I got the urge to mess around with makeup and this time it was with black eye shadow. Although in the end you couldn’t really see it, I thought it still looked really good! I also got approval from my boyfriend saying he liked it so that is something! (Granted he could only see photos) Also be prepared! I ended up taking a fair few selfies once I felt comfortable wearing so much black haha.

So this is one of the photos that I first took after I had completed my look. I was still getting used to wearing so much black and was also trying to make sure that I got the picture to show what was really happening on my eyes. Sadly it still looks like you can’t really see whats happening which kinda makes me sad.

Next up is me actually looking at the camera… not gonna lie had some trouble trying to actually get some good photos as it was late at night, so shadows were a problem and also my room is a mess.

Then the silly selfies started because I was trying to be more confident! Please don’t judge me too harshly haha.

Next up is just a whole lot of selfies that I took! So please enjoy them for what they are. Some are me trying to get good shots of the actual makeup and others are just me messing around and enjoying how this looks on my face!

In this image one can kinda see what is happening with the shadows that I layered. I placed the black all over my lid and then tried to blend out the edges roughly as a solid black line around my eyes would have looked awful. I knew I didn’t want to have just straight up black eyes so I started to look around my desk to see what I could add. At first I thought of a black shadow with glitter but that wasn’t what I wanted. So I went for the shadow Moon Prism Power, I first tested how the shadows mixed before putting them on my eye. When looking at Moon Prism Power in the pot it looks much more like a light pink shade (an image is below). But in reality it has a blue shift to it that it only really seen once put on the eyes. This is what you can kinda see in this photo which I am thankful for. When my eyes where in the shadows you could only really see the black, but when I moved my face towards the light, it became clear what was actually happening.

The photo above and below sort of show the importance of lashes with this look. Even before starting I knew I would have to do something to make my lashes more noticeable. I have very fair lashes to begin with so I knew I would have to make them darker and thicker to still be seen. Although you still can’t really see my lashes, you know that they are there. I feel that natural looking lashes wouldn’t have the same affect. I would love to try this again with thicker lashes.

This last image sort of does the products on my eyes some justice. I have only used three colours and I loved how it turned out. When I first started I didn’t know what I wanted to do besides putting a butt load of black all over my lids!

This is an overlook of the main products that I used to create this look. I have used mainly brands that I love and products that I have had for a long time. The top two pigments are by Shiro Cosmetics. The sades are called Moon Prism Power and The Truth respectively. I have yet to make a post about Shiro Cosmetics, but these are amazing and I love the brand so much! The base colour used is from Inglot, is just your basic matte black, I haven’t used this in a while but this is amazing to use as a base! The lashes I used were just ones that I got from a 100yen store in Japan. I had to cut these quite a bit as these were very big. Although I do feel like they got a bit lost in the eye shadow, it is def better than losing all of my lashes in the makeup haha. Lastly is the lips! This is by Jeffree Star, this is apart of his new range of Liquid Lipsticks and they are amazing! One thing I will say is that you want to make sure your lips are in good condition as after applying this as I went and talked to my unit mates and when I came back it had settled into the lines of my lips. Which was fine when I wasn’t making any facial expressions but when I smiled you could see them.
